Privacy notice
How we keep your name, phone number and story safe.
What we collect
- Your first name and phone number. Your last name, email and unit number only if you give them.
- What happened, the boxes you tick, and the choices you make about your complaint.
Where it is kept
- Your complaint is saved in a secure online database. It is not kept on your phone.
- Once you send it, nobody on the public website can read it back — not even you.
Who can see it
- Only advocates who have been checked and approved by our team.
- Social Futures, Homes NSW and DCJ cannot see it.
The public complaints list
- Anyone can see a complaint's random reference number, date, organisations, ticked issues and selected status or outcome.
- The public list never shows your name, phone, email, unit number, written story or other written answers.
- Even without names, someone who knows about an incident may recognise it from the date and issues.
Who we share it with
- The NSW Ombudsman or Minister Rose Jackson — only if you ticked yes.
- The media — only if you ticked yes.
- We never sell your details.
AI reports
- We sometimes use AI to spot patterns. It only ever gets totals of ticked boxes.
- Your name, phone number, unit number and story are never sent to AI.
Your choices
- You can ask us to see, fix or delete your details. Ask the advocate who contacts you.
- You can get a PDF copy of your complaint straight after you send it.
